Wine reflects the culture, passion, environment and spirit of the place where it is grown. It captures aspects of the soil and the weather within its unique flavour. This concept is known as the terroir and explains why 2 Wines, made from the
same Grape variety in different parts of the world can taste completely different. Cyprus is no exception to this rule and we are blessed with excellent Wines, although the vast majority of the population are not fully aware of all the Wines produced in Cyprus and many of the Restaurants seem to offer the same old Wines.
As Wine does not always travel well, it seems completely counter productive to consume imported Wines and it certainly does not help the local Island economy that we live in. Subsequently, About-Larnaca is dedicated to promote some of the best (a balance of quality, popularity and price) Wines in Cyprus (most of which are usually produced for local consumption only anyway as there is not enough volume for export) on a monthly basis.
